Authentic Mongolian Yurts for Sale
We have two (one Very large and the other small) Mongolian-style yurts for sale. My partner and I had been living in them full time for the past two and half years in Kent however we recently moved to Wiltshire and had a baby which meant that our needs have changed- hence we are hoping to sell our yurts and pass on these fabulous buildings to someone else.

“So- what are you selling?”

Our two yurts came direct from Mongolia (www.ulaantaij.com) and comprise of: The first is a VERY large 27’ yurt, this was our main living space- 538ft worth in fact (bigger than our previous flat in Canterbury). The structure is in fantastic shape with orange doors and uprights and light blue roof poles all with traditional designs. We had two sets of doors(adds a lot to the cost) in this yurt as opposed to just the usual one set; one of the doors’ paint work has blistered badly but this has not affected it structurally in any way. The yurt comes with four layers; the first: a lining sheet of cotton, then thick felt for insulation, and two layers of heavy grade canvas for protection and durability. All layers are in good condition although would benefit from new lining and outer cover which could be bought from the supplier. This yurt would be fantastic as a living space or teaching space (think yoga studio!) or for functions etc. This yurt needs a lot of space. The second yurt is 16’ in diameter providing 210ft of space and was used by us as our kitchen. It has darker blue paint work on the doors, uprights and roof poles with traditional designs. Again it is in good structural shape ( the door needs a little attention) and also has the lining sheet, thick felt and two layers of canvas. It would benefit from having new lining sheet and outer cover. This yurt would be lovely in a back garden as an outside living room or extra bedroom/guestroom or meditation room.

“So- what’s it like to live in a yurt?”
.
It’s wonderful, both yurts have proved to be very warm in the winter with a woodburner roaring away and they have been surprisingly waterproof (especially considering how damp the past couple of years have been). Living in a yurt brings one closer to nature- you can hear birds’ wings flap as they fly past, the rain beating on the roof and the wind in the trees however they are natural structures and need to be cared for and allowances made for the odd bit of dampness and bugs coming in, etc. We have been very happy living in ours full time since the spring of ’07.
